How We Verify Deals
DealProof judges deals on real price history — not marketing copy.
Verification Grades
Currently, nearly all live deals show a "🆕 Pending Verification" badge — automatic price grades below apply only once a product’s Keepa price history is connected. We still show the real Keepa graph so you can judge, and re-check the source page over time (and instantly when you report an issue).
All-Time Low — Current price is at or near the lowest recorded (±2%).
Great Deal — Current price is 10%+ below the typical (median) price.
List Price Inflated — The stated 'was' price is inflated, exaggerating the discount.
Average Price — Price is close to the typical range.
Coupon Code Verification
Coupon codes are extracted automatically from deal feed titles (DealNews, Slickdeals, etc.). We do not live-test codes at checkout. Instead, we show the source feed, initial fetch time, last re-check time, and expiry date (when known) so you can judge reliability. Always verify the code at the retailer's checkout page.
Price History Graphs
For deals with an Amazon ASIN, we embed a Keepa price-history graph and link to Keepa's interactive chart — giving you months or years of actual price data in one click. Keepa.
Deal Ranking
The deal score (0–100) combines the Keepa price-history grade (all-time low / great deal), drop from peak, freshness, ASIN presence, and claimed discount percentage. External deals without price history (e.g. DealNews / Slickdeals links) are marked 'Pending Verification' and rank lower until ASIN-level data is available.
